So it is official Quest University will be ending their athletic program as of the end of this basketball season. With 10% of their total population being on varsity teams I have to wonder about the long term effect of this decision for school. As a matter of fact the school likely wouldn't have even opened in its first year without the athletic population.ebe wrote:Sorry will return to this topic at a later date

really disappointing. A real shame for varsity athletes who will no longer have a place to play. Plus, as the article points out, the unique educational method of the university, will make it very difficult for students to transfer.
I guess if they are more than 20 million in debt, and with no government funding, something had to give..... but surely they could have found something else to cut..

Congrats to Douglas who after upsetting VIU in our conference final have made it all the way to the National Championship game against Seneca. Game is just about to start

Yes it's true that the college game in Canada gets even less attention than the meagre coverage USports gets.THB wrote:Seneca wins with almost no recognition. Perhaps U Sports should consider a relegation/promotion idea with the CCAA? At the least will/can there be some more exhibition games between the two leagues, there are some now.
That's too bad because I saw Seneca play at Algonquin this year and they really have a good team.
But I don't believe either party is interested in a promotion/relegation setup.
There are actually a lot of games played between USports and CCAA teams in Sept and Oct.
That will remain the extent of any interacton between the two.
